Trombone Mouthpiece, Large Shank
The V5 is designed around a traditional 5 cup diameter. The V5 for me is an indulgence. It has an almost turbocharged high register, projection, and clarity combined with the sweetest of sounds. Frankly I can not play this mouthpiece without laughing with sheer delight. I recommend this mouthpiece to people playing first trombone in brass bands, or those playing a lot of light playing, or crossover jazz. I would also recomend this as a trombone player’s first large bore mouthpiece. – the manufacturer

Comparison to the Bousfield “S” Series: These new V and O series Bousfield mouthpieces are unique, differing from the Signature “S” series mouthpieces first released in 2013-14. The rim shapes, which were and are a hallmark element of the Bousfield line, remain the same. The cup diameters, cup shapes, throats and backbores have all been changed to achieve a balanced piece that works well for all types of trombones, from Thayer to conventional rotor instruments.
